CISG – Presidential Decree ends the discussion on the validity of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods in Brazil

On October 17, 2014, Decree 8,327 was published. It enacted the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). The Convention had already been approved by the National Congress in 2012, by means of Decree n. 538/2012 and deposited at the United Nations in March 2013. Now, with the new Decree, doubts about the full enforcement of the CISG in Brazil are gone. One of the main works about the CISG was recently translated into Portuguese under the coordination of Eduardo Grebler, Véra Fradera and Cesar A. Guimarães Pereira and is available for purchase also in e-book format on RT’s website.
