RDC Regulation: Decree n. 7.581/2011

The Decree n. 7.581 that regulated the Regime Diferenciado de Contratações Públicas (RDC) [Differential Procurement Regime] instituted by Law n. 12.462 was published in October. Marçal Justen Neto presents the main aspects of the RDC regulation.

Urban Development of Curitiba: Green Line Urban Operation

Recently, the City Hall of Curitiba forwarded a bill to the City Council proposing the establishment of a joint urban operation (Green Line). These are public-private partnerships for the urban transformation of the living space. Differential Procurement Regime (Law n. 12.462/2011)

Continuing the sequence on works concerning the Differential Procurement Regime (DPC) established by Law n. 12.462/2011, this edition of the newsletter features articles written by Rodrigo de Freitas Goulart Pombo (dealing with tiebreaker procedures and preferences), Juliane Erthal of Carvalho (on administrative sanctions applicable under this regime) and Maria Augusta Rost (which discusses the requirements for sample products and letter of joint liability).

Judicial protection of industrial property

Eduardo Talamini once again examines the issue of judicial protection of industrial property, in a lecture that will take place at the Associa��o Brasileira dos Agentes da Propriedade Industrial [Brazilian Association of Industrial Property Agents] in Rio de Janeiro, on November 18th.rn

OAB National Conference

Between the 20th and 24th of November the XXI Confer�ncia Nacional da OAB [XXI Brazilian Bar National Conference] will take place in Curitiba. More information on the event, which will feature Eduardo Talamini lecturing on urgent judicial measures in civil procedure, may be found in its website.rn

Advanced Civil Procedure Course: new edition with references to the new Civil Procedure Code bill

Vol. 1 of the Curso avan�ado de processo civil [Advanced Civil Procedure Course ], written by Eduardo Talamini, and co-authored by LUIZ R. WAMBIER, reaches its 12th edition. New additions include notes of comparison between the rules that currently exist and those proposed in the new Civil Procedure Code bill. The authors will be autographing the work in a cocktail launch on November 24th, at 6 pm at the RT Bookstore in S�o Paulo (Address: Rua Conde do Pinhal, 80, Centro). The occasion will also mark the release of the collective work Current and controversial aspects of civil appeals, vol. 12, in which Eduardo Talamini is also one of the authors.rn

New ministry regulation on environmental licenses

Several regulations concerning the environmental licensing activity on the federal level were published on October 28th, 2010 (text of the regulations can be accessed here). These normative acts reveal the Federal Government`s effort to clarify the rules governing the licensing activity, especially in key sectors related to infrastructure. A detailed examination of the new rules will be available in upcoming editions of this newsletter.
